At this CLE, speaker Doug Murphy will equip attorneys to handle State's experts in criminal cases. The goal is for attorneys to walk away with legal and practical knowledge to exclude and neutralize State's experts. With an emphasis on cross examination, attorneys will focus on combating experts from an evidentiary viewpoint and with effective trial strategies.

Doug Murphy has been practicing since 1999 and has extensive courtroom experience in criminal defense. Doug Murphy is one of only two Texas lawyers who are Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and also Board Certified in DWI Defense by the National College for DUI Defense, accredited by the American Bar Association and the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Mr. Murphy has served as President of the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association, and also as a Regent for the National College for DUI Defense. He previously served two terms on the board of directors and as co-chair of the DWI Committee with the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Mr. Murphy has been recognized in the US News & World Report list of the Best Lawyers in America by Woodward White for his successes. He was also named as a Texas Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters in Texas Monthly. He was also awarded The Sharon Levine Unsung Hero Award by the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association for his hand in exposing the flaws in the Houston Police Department Breath Alcohol Testing vans, which led to their being decommissioned.
