Topic : At this CLE, gather practical strategies for effective grand jury presentations. Help your clients avoid indictments by framing the facts, fine tuning your writing skills, and humanizing your client in the most persuasive way. This training will highlight investigative techniques for excellent pre-indictment advocacy and point out common pitfalls to avoid.
Speakers: Max Patterson is an Assistant Chief at the Harris County Public Defender’s Office where he represents indigent clients in the criminal courtroom. Max currently leads a team of trial attorneys in the Felony Trial Division. He earned his law degree from the University of Houston and his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas, and prior to joining the PDO, Max worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Harris County.
Megan Harper serves as an investigator in the Felony Trial Division of the Harris County Public Defender’s Office. Prior to her work with the PDO, she was an investigator in private practice. Megan has a passion for criminal defense and is well-known for her detail-oriented, client-centered approach.
