10 Hour Anual CLE Poster

What You’ll Learn:

Artificial intelligence is quickly impacting the practice of criminal defense. This CLE provides a practical overview of how legal professionals can use AI responsibly, including when not to use it, the duty of confidentiality, data retention and security concerns, whether email and technology providers may access content, and the importance of vetting AI vendors. The course will review current American Bar Association guidance, discuss when client consent may be required, and introduce basic AI concepts so participants can evaluate risks and benefits and use these tools ethically and effectively.

About Rocky Ramirez:

Rocky is a Texas criminal defense attorney focused on the intersection of technology and indigent defense. A graduate of Texas Tech University and Western State University College of Law, he has served in roles with the Lubbock Private Defenders Office, the Bexar County Managed Assigned Counsel Office as Director of Technology and Professional Development, and now the Concho Valley Public Defender’s Office as a Felony Assistant Public Defender. He is a frequent CLE presenter on automation, case management systems, and the ethical use of AI in criminal defense.
